What is the Maui Research & Technology Center?
Maui Research & Technology Center (MRTC) is a 40,000 square-foot incubator and phase-in facility that is home to a cross section of technology ventures. From industry niches as varied as biotechnology and astronomy, MRTC provides its client companies with an environment and the resources to grow to become profitable businesses. MRTC is strategically located in the heart of the 415-acre Maui Research & Technology Park and serves as the hub of Maui's high technology industry.

MRTC is a program of the High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC), an agency of the State of Hawaii whose focus is to facilitate the growth of Hawaii's commercial high technology sector. The Maui Economic Development Board, Inc. (medb), dedicated to growing the tech sector on Maui, managed the MRTC under a state contract until August 31, 2003. With its more than twenty years of history in building a balanced economy on Maui, medb's expertise benefitted MRTC client companies. Due to budget cuts at the state level, the management of MRTC is now handled directly by HTDC. For more information contact Laura Noda, 808-539-3603 or laura@htdc.org.
